WHY VALENTINE'S DAY
Every festival we celebrate has a reason or a story behind that inspires us to celebrate that festival. As others, Valentine’s day too have a story behind but some of our people has completely changed the meaning and purpose of this day. It is the day when people show their affection for another person or people by sending cards, flowers or chocolates with message of love. The day gets it’s name from a famous saint, but there are several stories of who he was. The popular beliefs about St. Valentine’s is that he was a priest from Rome in the third century AD. Emperor Claudis II has banned marriage because he thought married man were bad soldiers. Valentine felt this was unfair, so he broke the rules and arranged marriage in secret. When Claudis found out, Valentine was thrown in jail and sentenced to death.
